As noted by Pangaea Arts & Theatre, the plot revolves around the arrival of a Cantonese opera troupe from China which is to inaugurate Cumberland’s new theatre with a performance for the Chinese coal miners. On opening day, the lead actor tours the mine and returns possessed by the ghosts of miners who had died an explosion a year before. Chaotic efforts ensue to revive and exorcise him, leading to a story of love, betrayal, and racial relations.
